Bound by Sacrifice

Download an advance reader copy of Bound by Sacrifice (Fate of the Fallen #1) for FREE until January 5, 2017 at Instafreebie.

Because!reasons I’ve had to cancel/postpone the series reorganization project. I’m editing the original books and getting them back on Amazon. I’ve commissioned new covers, and once I have everything in order, I’ll retitle the series and get everything else straightened out.

Sorry for any confusion/waffling, and thanks for your interest! (13 January 2017)

Re-Release Information:

The Ripples in the Status Quo series has been removed from sale. Puppy (Standalone) and Gifts (Status Quo #1) are available for sale and on Kindle Unlimited at Amazon.

I am in the process of editing and re-releasing the RISQ books as a new, more cohesive series: The Fate of the Fallen. I will release them every 2-4 weeks as possible after I work through them to ensure better organization and improved content.

Bought, Ravel, and Recoil: Content from these books has been combined and edited. It will be released in two parts, Fate of the Fallen #1 (Bound by Sacrifice) and #2 (Not Yet Named).

Owned and Temper: I am working to combine and edit these books. They will be released in two parts, Fate of the Fallen #3 (tentatively titled Breaking Point) and #4 (tentatively titled The Price of Freedom).

Refraction: Refraction will undergo minor edits. I anticipate that the re-release, Fate of the Fallen #5 (tentatively titled Heroes and Villains) will contain 1-3 additional chapters.

Bound by Sacrifice (Fate of the Fallen #1) will be officially released on January 6, 2017.

  1. Hi I read a sample of Bound by Sacrifice (The Fate of the Fallen #1) a couple days ago and I went to buy it today but it is no longer on amazon. Can I buy it anywhere else?

    1. Hey, Leah!

First of all, thanks for the interest! I love this world, and these books have been so much fun to play with.

So, I should’ve updated this (and I’m going to when I’m done typing this comment), so I apologize for that. I ended up having to cancel the plans to do the series reorganization project for now due to the universe being a complete asshat. I’m editing the individual books and putting them up one by one, and I’m hoping to have them all back up within the next few weeks. Same characters, same plot and all, just the original organization. ❤ Until I get them done and the new covers up, they'll fall under 'Ripples in the Status Quo.' Bought (#1) and Ravel (#2) are up now, and I should have Recoil (#3) back up in the next couple of days. Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions or anything! 2. Can I just ask a few questions for clarification? I saw the editing and re-release as The Fate of the Fallen, and bought and read Bound by Sacrifice. Then I saw it was gone, and the first two books were back up on Amazon. I checked this page on your site and saw your update, but was kind of confused. Are you editing the originals and putting them back up individually and have already starting posting those revisions? Because I checked out the first two books on Amazon, and it tells me I already have them. Or are you editing them all, then once everything is how you want it, you will then re-release everything? It kind of sounds that way to me because you wrote: “I’ve commissioned new covers, and once I have everything in order, I’ll retitle the series and get everything else straightened out.” Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything, because I love your books!

    1. Hey, Crystal,

I really need to get a post written up about all of this with a few explanations, because I’m confusing people, and I’m confusing myself.

I had fully intended to work them together and organize them somehow, but right in the middle of that project, I had a personal crisis. I half-assed the rest of the part I was working on, hated how it came out, but put it up anyway. It didn’t go well, and when I looked back at it, I realized what I’d done.

So instead, yeah, I’m revising/updating the current books and putting them back up one by one. I need to contact Amazon to find out if they’ll let people update or if I’ll need to replace individually. That’s on the list for today. If I can’t get them to push out the updates to people, then I’ll put out a note that I’ll replace other copies manually. I’ll offer to do it now, if anyone wants to see revisions/new content (I’ll do a blog post on what’s changed), or when I get the new covers done/everything straightened out — which might be a while. I’m fine with doing it twice. This was totally my fuck-up, and I’m very frustrated with it and the entier situation.

I very, very much appreciate you asking. It means a lot to me to know that people like this series, because it’s my favorite baby (shhh, don’t tell anyone ;-)).

This is actually a back-up blog; when I wrote this original post, my friend’s server (he hosts for me) was down, and I was trying to do… a billion things at once. It may end up being my current blog because… reasons. I’m not sure if you have me friended on FB or not, but feel free; I post updates there more regularly. I’d say you could ‘like’ my page, but I update it… er… Rarely is being kind. (https://www.facebook.com/r.phoenix is my profile.)

Lemme know if you have any more questions. Please don’t apologize for asking; I very, very appreciate that you’re interested enough TO ask.

Oh, if you want the updated copies, send me an e-mail (raissa(dot)phoenix(at)gmail(dot)com) or a message on FB with your email/preferred format. I’ve only done Bought, Ravel, and Recoil so far. Planning on working on Owned today. Updates on that one should be fairly minimal (she says, as she said the same thing about the other three and then did extensive edits). Temper’s the one I’m whining about doing. 😉

      …Okay, I ramble. A lot. *cough*

But yeah, I’ll get a status update/blog post up on what’s going on to sort of clarify.

      1. Thank you so much for the info! It really helped clarify things. I hope Amazon will let people update, but it’s great that you will offer the revised books to people if they won’t! I’ll definitely be emailing you for the updates. 🙂
